LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Police have arrested a man after they say they found spice and heroin -- and two young children -- in the car he was in.

According to the arrest report, it happened Friday afternoon in the parking lot of the McDonald's at the corner of 2nd Street and W. Broadway. Police say they saw the suspect enter a red Mazda in the parking lot there after hitting an unnamed victim in the face.

When police confronted the suspect -- 50-year-old Kevin Jones -- and asked him to step out of the car, they found "4 individually wrapped joints of spice in a cigarette pack on the inside of his jacket in the right pocket."

Police say they also found a small plastic bag of heroin under the right front passenger seat where Jones had been sitting. According to police, there were two small children in the car, ages six and seven. One of the children had been sitting in the front passenger seat where the heroin was found, police say, and the other child was sitting in the back seat.

Jones was arrested and charged with two counts of wanton endangerment, possession of a controlled substance, possession of synthetic drugs, assault and tampering with physical evidence.
