LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Hardinsburg Police say they've arrested a Breckinridge County father after he burned his 9-year-old son's hand with a hot glue gun as a form of discipline.
According to an arrest report, the incident took place on Sunday, Dec. 20. Police say 30-year-old Patrick Velapoldi told police and Child Protective Services that he caught his son with a cigarette lighter, so he put hot glue from a glue gun on his son's hand, "to show his son what it felt like to get burned."
As a result, Velapoldi was arrested and charged with first degree criminal abuse.
Child Protective Services removed the boy from Velapoldi's custody, according to the arrest report.
Velapoldi is currently being held in the Breckinridge County Detention Center.
