LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- As far as Bryan Starr was concerned, it was just another vacation to Disney World with his wife, Taylor, and their GoPro camera.
The camera was recording as an employee with the “Star Wars” live action show in the park pulled the Louisville man aside and told Bryan that he could take pictures with some of his favorite characters.
“I’m a big Star Wars fan,” said Bryan Starr. “I saw Darth Vader and two Storm Troopers. She’s like get in there and get a photo. I’m like, 'what is this? This is crazy.'”
What Bryan didn’t realize is that this was part of his wife’s plan to surprise him with a life-changing announcement.
“I went over to the Jedi Training Academy and found a worker and was like, ‘I’m going to sound like the most crazy person, but I found out I was pregnant last night and I want to tell my husband and I would love if the Star Wars cast could be a part of it,'” said Taylor Starr.
As Bryan was posing for pictures with Darth Vader and the Storm Troopers, his wife walked up with a gift.
“I looked in the bag and I didn’t see what it said or what was on it,” Bryan said. “I just knew it was small enough for a baby and not for me.”
When Bryan figured out what was going on, he was in tears.
The couple posted the video to YouTube earlier this month, so their announcement would correlate with the release of “The Force Awakens.”
The video was shared all over the place and it quickly reached nearly a million views.
“To see more views than 100 is amazing,” Bryan said. “To see almost a million views is just like, ‘oh, I did it.’ Then I realized she did it and I just edited it and put it on YouTube.”
Nearly four months along, Taylor says she has not ruled out a name from the “Star Wars” franchise. She just wants the two to be “better parents than Darth Vader.”
