LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Police say a Louisville man violently raped a woman before robbing her of her phone, ID and hotel room key.
According to an arrest report, it happened on Dec. 17 on Southern Parkway, near Oakdale Avenue. Police say 25-year-old Ronald Lee Bullitt saw a woman -- a complete stranger -- walking in an alley. According to the arrest report, he put a gun to the back of her head, shoved her to the ground, put his knee in her back and tried to strangle her.
He then pulled his pants down and raped her, according to the arrest report.
After that, Bullitt allegedly took the woman's phone, ID and hotel room key.
Police say Bullitt ran away after witnesses heard the woman screaming and interrupted the assault.
Bullitt was arrested Tuesday afternoon at his apartment on Southern Parkway, near W. Florence Avenue. He is charged with first degree rape, first degree robbery, first degree wanton endangerment and possession of a handgun by a convicted felon.
He was already a convicted sex offender before this incident. According to the Kentucky Sex Offender Registry, Bullitt moved to Kentucky some time after he was convicted of statutory rape in Georgia.
