CLARKSVILLE, Ind. (AP) - A museum at a southern Indiana state park is about to reopen after undergoing a $6 million facelift over the past year.

The News and Tribune reports the Falls of the Ohio Interpretive Center along the Ohio River near Louisville, Kentucky, is scheduled to reopen to the public on Jan. 8.

The center will include more interactive exhibits aimed at giving visitors a more sensory experience as it teaches about the geography and cultural history of the area.

The featured attraction at the state park near the Ohio River town of Clarksville is a 400-million-year-old fossilized coral reef.

The new exhibits at the center, which has been closed for 13 months, were created in partnership with design company Solid Light based in Louisville.
