Repairs underway after ground caves in near Phillips Lane
Officials now say repairs are expected to take at least a week.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Drivers near the Kentucky Fair and Expo Center are dodging a hole after part of the ground caved in.
One lane of Phillips Lane is closed near the main gate, and officials say repairs could take at least a week.
Officials with the Metropolitan Sewer District say the ground collapsed near several sewer lines, however those lines are intact and operating normally.
Repairs are underway to fill in the space, but there's no word on when the lane of traffic will re-open.
Officials say occasionally the ground can shift and the soil will collapse, however the cave-in is not considered a sinkhole.
