LMPD officer injured in single vehicle crash

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A Louisville Metro Police officer was rushed to the hospital following an early morning crash on Tuesday. 

It happened just before 1:30 a.m. on Rangeland Road near Poplar Level Road. The Sixth division officer was on duty, when he lost control of his police cruiser, veered off the road and struck a utility pole. 

The officer was taken to University Hospital with minor injuries.  The LMPD traffic unit is investigating. No one else was injured.
