Thousands descend on downtown Louisville for New Years Eve

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- 2015 is in the books and it's being sent out in style in downtown Louisville.

Kid Rock is playing a sold out show at the KFC YUM! Center. He hits the stage at midnight. 

4th Live draws thousands of people as well with a ball and balloon drop there.

Once the clock strikes midnight and these parties start to wrap up the concern will be drivers and making sure that those who don't need to drive find other ways home. 

Taxi cabs are available  at the YUM! Center between 2nd and 4th streets.

Across the river, Midnight Towing in Sellersburg is offering a free tow to impaired drivers tonight.

To get the free ride, you have to live in Clark or Floyd Counties.The goal in all the available services is to keep everyone safe. Even folks from out of town are enjoying the excitement tonight.

"We had an opportunity to see Kid Rock in a city we've never been before. We've enjoyed your city, it's a beautiful city, it's clean, it's safe," said one man as he headed into the concert.

LMPD had heavy presence in the area as well.
