LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Police arrested two people Sunday in Jackson County after they stopped to help with a broken down vehicle on the side of the road.

The Jackson County Sheriff's Department says officers responded to a report of a stranded motorist on I-65 northbound, just south of the Seymour exit.

Police say the driver of the disabled mini van, 37-year-old Laranis Wade, was wanted on a warrant for domestic violence and strangulation.

The passenger, 30-year-old Amy Thijssen, was also arrested after police found marijuana in her possession.

The Sheriff's department says Thijssen also had a prescription muscle relaxant.

Thijssen and Wade's three children were also in the car at the time of the incident. They were turned over to the Jackson County Department of Child Services.

Both Thijssen and Wade are from Rockford, Ill.
