LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Nearly a week after a serious car accident on Dixie Highway, the Jefferson County Coroner's Office says a woman has died from her injuries sustained when the car she was in was hit as it ran a red light.

Several people were taken to University Hospital, but only Casie Ferrell was in critical condition. On Monday, the Jefferson County Coroner's Office said Ferrell died just after 11 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 3, 2016.

Ferrell, 32, was riding in the passenger seat of the car that was hit and the Coroner's Office said she died of blunt force trauma.
