Vigil marks 2 years since southern Indiana house fire that killed three children

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Two years ago, an intentional house fire took the lives of three children. Their grandmother says the healing process is only getting harder.

A vigil was held Monday afternoon near the former home on Ely Street in New Albany.

Marie Clark says the only survivor, 7-year-old Taty'Ana, isn't doing well.

She said the little girl is more aware of what happened to her and her siblings.

She also needs to have more surgery on her burn scars.

"It's really taking a toll on me. I feel like I'm failing my grandbaby and failing my other grandbabies' memories," Clark said. "It feels like I'm not doing all the things I should be doing."

Three people are serving time behind bars for firing a flare gun into the home.

Clark says she hopes a permanent memorial is put on the vacant land.
