LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Police say a Louisville man showed no regard for human life when he led police on a chase yesterday afternoon.

Police went after Delbert Mattingly because they thought he was a suspect in yesterday's murder.

Detectives were in the Valley Village neighborhood when they spotted a "suspicious vehicle." They say Mattingly took off, leading police on a 20 minute chase through southwest Jefferson County.

It turns out, Mattingly was not their murder suspect, but the 32-year-old is now facing charges including fleeing from police, criminal mischief and wanton endangerment.

According to an arrest report, Mattingly switched lanes and, at times, drove into oncoming traffic. The report says he used his vehicle as a weapon to hit police cars.

He was in arraignment court today and a not guilty plea was entered on his behalf. A public defender will be appointed to his case. His bond was set at $50,000 full cash and the judge told him not to carry any weapons or guns.
