LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Seven people in Clark County died of a drug overdose in one week.

The disturbing fact came to light today as Indiana's Attorney General announced a grant to help local officers save lives.

Greg Zoeller's office is allocating $127,000 to purchase Naloxone, a drug that almost instantly reverses the effects of a heroin overdose.

Police in 16 counties, including Clark and Scott, will now have this tool since officers are often the first people to encounter an addict in distress.

We're told overdoses are now the leading cause of accidental death in Indiana..
