LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Louisville legislators want to meet their constituents.

It was all part of the 2015 Bingham Fellows Project called Cafe LOUIE.

Organizers have partnered with several groups, so residents can meet and greet their Jefferson County legislators.

Each meeting will feature one or two of Louisville's 28-member delegation.

Saturday's kickoff at the Fern Creek library branch included State Sen. Jimmy Higdon and State Rep. Kevin Bratcher.

"You get to meet people and put a name and a face," Sen. Jimmy Higdon said.

"They have a vested interest in their state, and we're the ones they need to tell it to," Rep. Kevin Bratcher said. "I'm glad they're telling it."

These events are going to be held Saturday mornings from 9-10 a.m.

Next week, they'll be in Saint Matthews.
