LACETT | Balanced attack helps UK women’s basketball team beat Georgia

Kentucky won its first road game, handling Alabama in Tuscaloosa Saturday night. Kentucky won its first road game, handling Alabama in Tuscaloosa Saturday night.

LOUISVILLE, KY. (WDRB) – A balanced scoring attack helped the 10th ranked Kentucky Wildcats surge past Georgia 64-53 Sunday afternoon at Stegeman Coliseum in Athens, Georgia.

Makayla Epps led the way for UK with 13 points as the Wildcats improved to 13-1 overall on the season. They are now 2-1 in the SEC.

Alexis Jennings and Evelyn Akhator each had a double-double for UK who has won 2 in a row. Jennings had 12 points and 12 boards. Akhator had 10 points and 10 boards.

Janee Thompson also had 10 points. She only made one basket in 11 attempts but was a perfect 8-8 from the foul line.

UK hosts 2nd ranked South Carolina Thursday.
