Louisville mom accused of shoplifting while with her two young children

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A Louisville mother has been arrested after police say she was caught shoplifting while her two young children were in her care.

According to an arrest report, 35-year-old Latisha Jarvis was seen hiding store merchandise in her purse at the Walmart on Cedar Springs Boulevard, near the interchange between Bardstown Road and the Gene Snyder Freeway, Friday evening.

Police say she then tried to walk out of the store without paying for the $39.99 worth of goods.

Latisha, "had her two young children with her in her custody and care" while committing the crime, according to the arrest report.

She was arrested and charged with theft by unlawful taking and endangering the welfare of a minor.
