LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Calling Sunday’s 66-62 loss at Clemson a “lost opportunity,” University of Louisville basketball coach Rick Pitino took to his blog to talk about the game.

He wrote about poor shot selection — the Cards were 0-13 on challenged shots, according to his stats. And Pitino said that the defense, which sent Clemson to the line 44 times, has to improve, including in the area of deflections.

“We have had 26, 26, & 22 deflections the last three games, Pitino wrote. “Clemson had 8 steals to our 6. Not what Louisville defense is all about.”

With Pittsburghh visiting Thursday night, bouncing back will be critical for the Cardinals. Pitino outlines the good and the bad, and looks ahead to Pittsburg. You can read the entire post here.

“Golden opportunity lost!” Pitino said. “Clemson’s football team playing for the National Championship Monday night brought a very small crowd to Bon Secours Wellness Arena. Their home court advantage was not like other places because of their arena renovation. Opportunity Lost!”
