LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- An anonymous text message received by a student prompted authorities to search Eastern High School and tighten security at that location Wednesday morning, according to a statement from the principal.

Authorities say the school has since been given the "all clear."

"Today, one of our students received an anonymous text from a free app that anyone can download and use to text or call," a message to parents from the principal read. "The text was a general statement for 'your school' to watch out. Whether or not this statement was intended for Eastern or was even meant to go to that student's phone number, we still need to treat the issue as a serious safety concern. We have notified district security and are closely monitoring our entrances and exits, and we will have the canine unit sweep the school. We know that incidents such as this are disruptive to the school environment and cause anxiety in our community. We are committed to providing a safe learning environment and will continue to use safe school practices, while providing the academic services students and families expect."
