Kentucky State Police arrest Hardin County man on charges related to child sexual exploitation

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Kentucky State Police say they have arrested a man on charges related to child sexual exploitation.

Police arrested arrested 44-year-old Albert D. Martinek Jr. on charges related to possession and distribution of matter portraying a sex performance by a minor, according to a news release from KSP.

Martinek was arrested following an investigation by an undercover investigation.

Officials with KSP's Electronic Crime Branch began to investigate after Martinek was allegedly discovered sharing images of child sexual exploitation online, according to police.

Authorities say a search warrant was executed at Martinek's residence on Tuesday.

Police say equipment believed to have been used to commit the crime was confiscated and taken to KSP’s forensic lab to be examined.

The investigation into the case is ongoing.

Martinek faces 20 counts of possession and 20 counts of distribution of matter portraying a sex performance by a minor.

Each charge is potentially punishable by one to five years in prison.

He is being held in the Hardin County Detention Center.
