LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The search is on for a couple on a crime spree and police say one of them is nine months pregnant.

Louisville Metro Police say the two are suspected in recent burglaries and other crimes and it's likely they've gotten away with thousands of dollars so far.

"I came home from work and noticed that my back gate was open," said David Porter, whose Fern Creek home was broken into in early December.

He says electronics and even social security cards were stolen.

"Mad, upset and hurt more than anything," Porter said about the break-in.

Hurt, because he grew up with one of the suspects, Joseph Ducette.

Ducette and his girlfriend, Jamie Veazey are now on the run.

Investigators say they've learned the 23-year-old woman is pregnant and have been told both are drug users.

"So we've got a nine month pregnant female who's committing crimes while she's also shooting heroin and endangering the baby," LMPD Det. Rodney Underwood said.

Underwood says the pair is also connected to a home invasion robbery from early last year and a December break-in on Cooper Avenue.

He says their criminal activity doesn't seem to be slowing down.

Police say the two are also hitting local stores. They're accused of stealing merchandise and then returning the items for gift cards.

"They're taking the gift cards to another local pawn shop and pawning those for half of the value and taking that money," Underwood said.

Underwood estimates Ducette and Veazey have stolen around $20,000 worth of stuff.

He says the expectant mother is using fake ID's at the pawn shops.

"This is every other day almost with these two," Underwood explained.

Police say the duo has been hard to track down because they don't appear to have a home but do seem to have access to a car.

Porter calls it a bad situation. He says he wants them to get help and also face consequences.

"You break the law, you deserve to be punished for it. I mean, that's the way it goes," Porter said.

Police say Ducette is also wanted for a parole violation and Veazey is a suspect in another burglary and car theft from last year.

If you know where they are, you're asked to call the LMPD tip line at 574-LMPD.
