Commonwealth Atty: E'town officers justified in fatal July shooting

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Two Elizabethtown police officers who shot and killed a man in July were justified.

That's the word from Hardin County Commonwealth Attorney Shane Young, after reviewing the case.

Officers Scot Richardson and Matt McMillen shot at Joshua Blough, killing him.

Police say Blough was armed with a knife and was agitated and confrontational, approaching officers and ignoring commands to drop the knife.

Young says the officers' actions were justified, because Blough presented danger to them.
