LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The Kentucky Science Center is one of the best children's museums in the country, according to Tripping.com.

The website ranked Louisville's Science Center fifth, behind the Children's Museum of Indianapolis.

“We are very proud to be in the company of such great institutions," said Jo Haas, the Science Center's Executive Director, "and it is testament to the good work we are doing in the community and region.  We are thrilled to be recognized in this way and proud of the partnerships and team effort it takes to produce world-class programs and exhibits.”

Tripping.com is a search engine for vacation rentals and ranks the Please Touch Museum in Philadelphia a number one -- accounting for exhibits, accessibility, special events and ticket prices.

“Making science fun and exposing kids to STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) at an early age leads to successful students and productive adults," Louisville Mayor Greg Fischer said. "That’s what the Kentucky Science Center is all about! Louisville already knows what an amazing resource we have, but being recognized as a top Children's Museum in the U.S. is sure to raise awareness for this great educational resource in our city.”
