LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Louisville Metro Police say a man has been charged with the attempted murder of a Shively Police officer.

Kenneth Probus is charged with attempted murder for shooting Officer Wes Singleton, according to LMPD PIO Dwight Mitchell.

Officials say Probus shot the officer four times in the lower section of his body while trying to serve a drug warrant. Police say Probus fired first and police then returned gunfire, hitting him. 

Probus remains in the hospital and is expected to survive, according to police.

Shively Police PIO Josh Myers says Officer Singleton has been moved to a rehabilitation facility and is making progress.
