LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Jefferson County Public Schools will remain closed Thursday after a snow day Wednesday.

During a press conference Wednesday, Dr. Michael Raisor with the school district said 900 roads were still impassable by school buses Wednesday afternoon and sidewalks are still covered.

Chief Of Public Services Doug Hamilton said at a press conference Wednesday afternoon the department has seen "some improvement" on roads since the morning. Salting and plowing operations began around 2:30 Wednesday morning and continued into the evening hours.

Hamilton said LG&E was reporting no major issues due to snow, while Louisville water said it had some issues though they were "manageable."

Due to road conditions in some parts of the county, Oldham County Schools will Also be Thursday. The make up day for this cancelation is June 2.
