JEFFERSONVILLE, Ind. (WDRB) -- The Clark County Sheriff's Office hosted an information session about guns Wednesday night, which had been planned before the accidental shooting Wednesday morning

Dozens of people came to Jeffersonville High School for the free training.

Instructors covered topics like general gun safety, how to interact with police when carrying a gun, and how to get a concealed carry permit.

"Who can have a permit? What do state police call a qualified person? That's the title. You have to be 18 years of age or older. You cannot be a convicted felon," Deputy John Jawar explained to the crowd.

The sheriff's office will hold more training Thursday night and next Monday.
