LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Three people were murdered in Louisville Wednesday night, and homicide detectives are investigating a double shooting that left a woman critically injured.

The violent night began about 8:15 p.m., when police found 26-year-old Aaron Williams in his car along Old Manslick Road.

"When officers arrived, they did find what appears to be a black male inside of the vehicle who suffered some kind of trauma to the body," LMPS spokesperson Dwight Mitchell said. "He received fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene."

The Jefferson County Coroner's Office confirmed Williams died of multiple gunshot wounds.

"Saw the car sitting there and of course it was covered in snow so you couldn't see inside of it," said one neighbor who did not want to be identified. "It's weird to know that underneath all that snow, there was a body."

The second murder happened just minutes later, and only two miles away. Mitchell says a woman was shot and killed near West Whitney and Peachtree Avenues in the Wyandotte neighborhood.

Family members identified the woman as 37-year-old Leontynae "Nae Nae" Wade. They say she worked in the fast food industry for more than a decade to support her four children.

The Jefferson County Coroner's Office confirmed Wade died of a single gunshot wound.

"All of this happened in front of my grand kids. He killed my baby in front of her kids," said Brian Tucker, Wade's father. "She's gonna be missed in a lot of ways because she helped a lot of people. She let a lot of people in her house that didn't have nowhere to go with their kids."

By 10:45 p.m., homicide detectives were called to an apartment in the Chickasaw neighborhood on West Kentucky Street near 36th Street. That's where they say they found 24-year-old Montez Small dead.

The Jefferson County Coroner's Office said Small was pronounced dead from multiple stab wounds.

"You want to be safe, if you're in bed at night sleeping, you don't want to be hit by a stray bullet or something, you know? You never know," said Jerome Hickman, who lives near that scene.

A man and woman were shot just after 10 p.m. on Cleo Avenue, which is just off Preston Highway near the airport. LMPD says both were taken to the hospital.

Homicide detectives were called to investigate because the woman was gravely injured. As of Thursday evening, police say the woman remained in critical condition.

LMPD says there is no indication that any of these cases are connected.
