Rand Paul blasts Donald Trump, argues that U.S. presidency has become too powerful

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Rand Paul says the presidency has become too powerful -- and some power should be given back to states and the people.

Paul says the country doesn't need a strong leader.

A new CNN poll shows the Kentucky senator has the backing of six-percent of likely voters in New Hampshire's Feb. 9 GOP primary. That's well behind Donald Trump's 34 percent.

"From what I hear from Donald Trump is, he's so smart, so rich, give him power he'll fix everything," Paul says. "That concerns some of us who are students of history who believe too much power is the problem."

Paul says he's disappointed that Sarah Palin decided to endorse Donald Trump.
