JEFFERSONVILLE, Ind. (WDRB) -- Jeffersonville Mayor Mike Moore has opened a snow command center at the Jeffersonville Police Department Headquarters to coordinate the city's response to the storm.
A snow hot line has also been set up for Jeffersonville residents that need assistance: 812-670-3021 "But if it’s an emergency, please call 911, Moore said in a press release.
City officials are asking Jeffersonville residents to stay off the roads if at all possible during Friday's storm.
"Your safety is the highest priority at this time," Moore said. "If it is absolutely necessary for you to be traveling, we urge you to use extreme caution."
Jeffersonville road crews are working the major thoroughfares first. The secondary and subdivision streets will not be plowed until the major thoroughfares have been cleared.
Please be patient and remember that Jeffersonville has over 260 miles of road and 14 snow plows.
Also Jeffersonville residents are advised that 10th Street, as well as Highway 62 east of I-265 interchange, are the responsibility of The State of Indiana. The City of Jeffersonville is responsible for 10th Street up to I-265.
