LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A fire broke out at Louisville Metro Animal Services Manslick Road shelter Friday night.

Louisville Metro Animal Services' Communication Specialist Leslie Hawk said no animals were injured in the fire.

Hawk said the fire started in a trailer used to house stray cats.

According to a dispatcher, the fire department was still on scene around 11:30 p.m. but everything was under control.

Louisville firefighters were called to the shelter just after 10:30.

Crews found one building on fire once they arrived, but the extent of the damage was not immediately available.

There was no word if anyone or any animals were in danger.
