Gov. Bevin issues state of emergency to protect against price gouging

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Kentucky Gov. Matt Bevin issued a state of emergency Saturday, aiming to protect Kentuckians from rising prices.

He issued the price gouging emergency order to protect consumers while the state recovers from the massive snow storm.

It gives the Attorney General's office the power to prosecute businesses for spiked prices for things like generators and hotel rooms.

The protection measures remains active for at least 30 days.
