LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A University of Virginia student from Cincinnati is being held in North Korea.

Otto Frederick Warmbier is accused of committing a hostile act against the government.

The China-based travel company that organized his trip says Warmbier was detained in January.

Officials claim he entered the country to bring down the North Korean government.

Ohio Governor John Kasich calls the arrest inexcusable and says Warmbier needs to be released immediately.

Warmbier is a third-year student studying commerce at the University of Virginia.
