Deadly listeria outbreak leads to salad recall in several states including Kentucky and Indiana

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A deadly listeria outbreak leads to the recall of several brands of packaged salad in Kentucky and Indiana.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention say 12 people were hospitalized in six states.

One patient died.

The affected salads came from a Dole processing plant in Springfield, Ohio.

Dole issued a voluntary recall for salads sold under the Dole, Fresh Selections, Simple Truth, Marketside, the Little Salad Bar and President's Choice brands.
