LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — With Arizona Cardinals’ quarterback Carson Palmer sidelined by injury, former University of Louisville quarterback Teddy Bridgewater has been named to the NFL Pro Bowl, the Minnesota Vikings announced tonight.

In his first season as a full-time starter after being the 32nd overall pick in the 2014 Draft, Bridgewater led the Vikings to an 11-5 record, the NFC North Division championship and a playoff appearance.

Bridgewater completed 65.3 percent of his passes, throwing for 3,231 yards and 14 touchdowns. He also became only the second QB in Minnesota history to throw for four touchdowns and run for one after a five-touchdown performance in against Chicago on Jan. 20. Now, he'll make his first trip to Honolulu for the Pro Bowl.

Bridgewater is one of four U of L players in the game, along with Elvis Dumervil and Eric Wood, as well as Cleveland’s Gary Barnidge, who also was tabbed today after an injury to Rob Gronkowski and with Greg Olsen headed to the Super Bowl with Carolina.
