LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A blind and crippled man -- who stole a million dollars from his landlord's basement -- has pleaded guilty to the charges against him.

Police arrested Charles Hughes back in December.

Prosecutors say he and some friends stole the cash from the basement of the home he was renting on Cecil Avenue in West Louisville.

Hughes pleaded guilty Wednesday and has since returned the money.

He will be placed in the diversion program for a year.

Hughes won't go to jail as long as he doesn't commit a crime during that time.
