LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The Republic Bank/Coca-Cola Girls LIT went mostly to form Wednesday with three of the four higher-seeded teams prevailing.

Top local seed Butler got 16 points from Jaelynn Penn and 14 from her Junior running mate Teri Goodlett in a 78-40 win over Christian Academy.  The Bearettes meet Muhlenberg County at 4:00 pm Friday in the quarterfinals.

The number two local seed, Male made it 15 straight wins with a 65-42 triumph over Bullitt East.  Senior Center I'liyah Green led the way with 15 points and 12 rebounds.  Next up for the Lady Bulldogs is Ft. Thomas Highlands in an 8:30 start Friday.

Manual, fourth among the local seeds held off Sacred Heart in the nightcap, 56-53 behind its own big Senior. 6'3" Krys McCune totaled 18 points, 8 rebounds and 4 blocked shots.  The Lady Crimsons get Mercer County Friday at 5:30.

The only first round winner to follow up with a win Wednesday was Mercy.  The Woods sisters keyed the Jaguars 68-51 win over local 3rd seed Eastern.  Madison Woods had 16 and her younger sister Josie had 13.  Mercy gets the state's number one team, Elizabethtown and McDonald's All-American Erin Boley Friday at 7:00 pm.

All of Friday's games are at Bellarmine's Knights Hall.  The Saturday semi-finals (10:00 and 11:30 am) and the 8:00 pm finals are both at Christian Academy.
