Ky. Senate approves bill requiring public high school students to get CPR training

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Kentucky's Senate has approved a bill requiring public high school students get basic CPR training.

The bill's lead sponsor says the basic skills learned in school could help save lives.

Under the legislation, the training could be part of health or physical education courses, or Junior ROTC courses.

The training wouldn't have to be given by a certified instructor.

The bill now goes to the House.
