JEFFERSONVILLE, Ind. (WDRB) -- Police were called to Jeffersonville High School Friday after officials said two students brought a gun to school.

Greater Clark County Schools released a statement late Friday that a staff member noticed the gun and contacted administrators and the School Resource Officer.

The Jeffersonville Police Department worked with school officials to investigate the incident. According to GCCS, investigators determined the two students were not planning to harm anyone at the school and no one was threatened.

Both students will be disciplined under School Board policy and state laws. No other details about either student were released.

"The safety of all Greater Clark County Schools' students and staff is the number one priority of the district," Erin Bojorquez, who is a spokesperson for Greater Clark County Schools, said.

"We are grateful for the swift action of one of our employees and the dedication of the Jeffersonville High School family and Jeffersonville Police Department."
