LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Members of Hunsinger Lane Baptist Church are back to normal worship after a fire ripped through it's walls six months ago.

The new church was rededicated by Pastor Charlie Davis on Sunday morning.

He says the August fire charred one side of the building, and the rest of it had smoke damage.

While it was emotional for many to see the building go up in flames, church members say it's made them stronger in their faith.

"Everybody has been hanging in here and praying, pulling together," Pastor Davis said. "And we've gotten through this. It's turned out to be a blessing. It really has."

The church also hosted a dinner for the workers who helped restore the building as a way to say thank you.
