Former U of L women's basketball player Angel McCoughtry to be honored as ACC Legend
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A former University of Louisville women's basketball All-American guard is set to be honored.
Angel McCoughtry is one of 15 former student-athletes that will be recognized as an ACC Legend, according to a news release.
The honor is presented by New York Life.
McCoughtry is a three-time WBCA All-American.
Among McCoughtry's accomplishments is her being the program's all-time leader in points (2,779), rebounds (1,261) and steals (481). Her point total ranks in the top 25 of all-time in NCAA Division I history.
She, along with the other honorees, will be recognized at the 2016 ACC Women's Basketball Tournament. The event is scheduled to take place March 2-6 at the Greensboro Coliseum. The group will be honored during the annual ACC Women's Basketball Legends' Brunch on March 5. The group will then be introduced to the Coliseum crowd during halftime at the first semifinal game that afternoon.
The ACC Women's Basketball Legends program recognizes players and coaches from each of the ACC's 15 schools.
