LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A high-traveled rest area along I-65 will be replaced after being destroyed by fire.

The southbound rest area on Interstate 65 in Hart County burned in the middle of the night.

There's no word yet on what caused the fire.

Kentucky transportation officials say construction on the new rest area could start this summer and take about 18 months to complete.

Tourism officials near Mammoth Cave say an estimated two million people stop at the rest area each year.
