LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The University of Kentucky men's basketball team has had some trouble in true road games this season, and a trip Thompson-Boling Arena in Knoxville, Tenn., tonight fell right in line.

UK built a double-digit lead just eight minutes into the game, and held onto it for much of the half. At one point, they led by as much as 21 points. But a late surge from the Volunteers cut the lead to six at the break, and it only got closer from there.

UT took a 56-54 lead midway through the second half and never let it go.

The Wildcats couldn't get closer than three points, losing their second-straight game and sixth of the season (all away from home).

But the Wildcats' defense finally turned it up a notch late in the game, calming the crowd and cooling the hot-shooting Volunteers.

Sophomore guard Tyler Ulis led UK with 20 points and five assists.

UK gets three days off before hosting Florida on Saturday at 4 p.m.
