LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A Louisville man was arrested in Lexington Tuesday on warrants for assault and attempted murder.

According to an arrest warrant, Damontraz Floyd shot a victim in Jefferson County on April 22, 2015. Witnesses say Floyd approached the vehicle where the victims were sitting, walked around the rear passenger side of the vehicle and fired at the people inside.

Police say two people were injured by the bullet. One victim had life-threatening injuries, and the other victim sustained injuries to his foot.

Damontraz is also charged with attempted murder in connection with an assault on May 10, 2014. That's when police say he assaulted his aunt during an argument about hair spray in an apartment they shared in Louisville.

According to an arrest warrant, Damontraz hit the victim with a chair before pointing a loaded gun at her and threatening to kill her.

He is being held at the Fayette County Detention Center.
