Ky. family infected with Zika virus during missionary trip to Haiti

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A Kentucky family was infected with the Zika virus while on mission trip in Haiti.

The Carroll family from Murray, Kentucky, spent the 16 months in Haiti.

All five members of the family contracted the virus and have since recovered. The mother says they couldn't do much for the illness besides taking Tylenol and Benedryl and hoping for a quick recovery.

Jennifer Carroll says her family will now be stocking up on mosquito repellent.

The Carrolls are missionaries with "Heart of God: Haiti."
