Pajamas not appropriate for court, Pennsylvania judge says

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Pajama pants are for sleeping, not for standing before a judge.

At least that's what a district court judge in Pennsylvania posted outside his courtroom. A sign in the lobby reads "pajamas are not appropriate attire for district court."

Judge Craig Long says he's seeing more and more people wearing them in public.

While he's okay with the trend, he says there are some places pajamas shouldn't be worn and the courtroom is one of them.

"It's not a law," Judge Long said. "It's not a rule or something we can enforce. It's just there as a reminder."

The judge says his sign is only meant for people who have to appear in court.
