SHEPHERDSVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Amid allegations that Shepherdsville Mayor Scott Ellis confessed in a sex for favors case, city council members are speaking out and some are calling for Mayor Ellis to resign.
"I gave him the benefit of the doubt for a long time, but now I'm honestly disgusted. It's sad. It's a sad, sad day for the city," Ashley Bratcher said. "He needs to step down. He does need to step down. That is what's best. Right now he's only looking out for himself. That's all he's worried about."
So far, three council members have told WDRB they would like to see Mayor Ellis step down.
That includes Ashley Bratcher, Larry Hatfield and Bernie Brown.
Hatfield says he wants to see if the council can hire its own lawyer, and would like state police to investigate whether Ellis retaliated against the city Treasurer.
Three others council members have not returned our messages for a comment on this story.
