Jeffersonville Police say no wrongdoing in death of 2-month-old

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Jeffersonville Police say there was no wrong-doing in the death of a 2-month-old Thursday morning.

According to police, a medical examination "found no evidence of any criminal wrongdoing."

Around noon on Thursday Jeffersonville Police and EMS responded to a home in the Northaven Subdivision. The infant had stopped breathing and was later pronounced dead at Clark Memorial Hospital.

Jeffersonville Police launched an investigation, but say no criminal wrongdoing resulted in the child's death -- though an official cause of death was not released.

"At this time, no further information is able to be released," The Clark County Coroner's Office said in a release. "This is still an active death investigation that is being conducted by multiple agencies."

"The investigation will remain open until the report on the medical examination is completed," a release from Jeffersonville Police said.
