Local high school student making a name for himself in fashion world

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- He's making a name for himself in the fashion world before he even graduates high school.

Zach Lindsey launched his 2016 Spring-Summer "Opulence" collection Saturday night.

The event was held at Copper and Kings in Louisville.

The DuPont Manual High School student was featured on Lifetime's inaugural season of Project Runway Junior.

"I originally did not want to do fashion design," Lindsey said. "I wanted to be a lawyer, but just many doors opened, and things fell into place, and I was just very blessed for this opportunity and experience."

Lindsey says he started sewing at the age of 9.

He hopes to have any orders that were placed Saturday finished in time for Derby Week.
