Arson officials still investigating cause of fatal Sunday morning fire

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The Louisville Fire Department responded to a garage fire Sunday morning that killed one person.

It happened just before 5:30 a.m. Sunday in the 6600 block of Evangeline Avenue, near Southside Drive.

The coroner says Joshua Neil Dyer, 31, died in the fire of smoke inhalation. Toxicology results are still pending.

Chief Sal Melendez says Dyer's brother told officials he would often sleep in the garage.

It took 12 firefighters just three minutes to control the fire, but arson investigators are still determining what caused it.
