LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Kentucky State Police have arrested a Hardin County man for firing a gun at a trooper.

Dustin Ray Thomas, 22, of Cecilia, was arrested Saturday just before 6 p.m.

Trooper Luke Durbin was trying to conduct an interview with Thomas on Wonderland Cavern Road on Saturday in relation to an ongoing burglary investigation.

Trooper Durbin couldn't find Thomas, and while returning to his car, was shot at from a nearby detached garage.

KSP officers responded to the scene, but couldn't make contact with Thomas. After several hours, they were able to safely arrest Thomas, charging him with attempted murder of a police officer.

He is being held at the Hardin County Detention Center. Nobody was hurt at the scene.
