Louisville Sailor holds 3-month-old son for first time after 5-month deployment

PEARL HARBOR (WDRB) -- A Sailor from Louisville held his son for the first time after returning from a 5-month deployment. 

Chief Machinist’s Mate Jeremy Mahoney greeted his 3-month-old son, Michael. and his wife, Anna Lyn, following the return of the Los Angeles-class fast-attack submarine USS Cheyenne (SSN 773) to Pearl Harbor on Feb. 5. 

While deployed, 15 Sailors and four officers earned their designation as qualified in submarines and now wear the dolphin warfare insignia. Additionally, eight Sailors were advanced in rank, three officers were promoted, and 14 junior Sailors reenlisted while under way.
